Catherine Chatterley, PhD

Founding Director, Canadian Institute for the Study of Antisemitism

Catherine Chatterley is a historian of Modern Europe, trained at The University of Chicago. She is the Founding Editor-In Chief of Antisemitism Studies, published by Indiana University Press.

Chatterley is an award-winning writer who specializes in the study of European history, with particular emphasis on the history of antisemitism and the dynamic relationship between Jews and non-Jews in Western history. Syracuse University Press published her first book, Disenchantment: George Steiner and the Meaning of Western Civilization After Auschwitz, a National Jewish Book Award Finalist in the category of Modern Jewish Thought and Experience. Her current book The Antisemitic Imagination will be published by Indiana University Press in 2018.
